The Opportunity
Riotinto for a Senior
Engineer Mining to provide a
medium term (1-5 years) to long range plan and optimizing the Open Pit mine
schedule to increase the NPV of the project. The role will play an integral
part in employee development program to ensure a successful 95% nationalization
of the workforce within 5 years.
What the role entails
This role is a great opportunity for a Mining Engineer who is
looking to broaden their experience in this exciting project. Working a 4 weeks
on, 2 weeks off roster and reporting to the Manager Geology, you will be:
o Assisting
in developing a safety culture and ensuring compliance with existing safety
legislation and applicable HSE standards
o Producing
the Mine Optimization and medium to long term plans
o Developing
the mining strategy and guiding mine operation group on monthly basis on tons
and grade
o Working
as an integral member of the open pit team ensuring the national workforce is
in place and developed
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
o A
Mining Engineering degree
o Significant
experience in a similar role in the mining industry
o Demonstrated
experience in mine planning, pit optimization and strategic planning
