BGC Contracting Pty Ltd is a contract mining and civil construction company with operations in Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland.
We are currently seeking a Mining Engineer for our South Middleback Ranges Mining Operations project.  BGC Contracting is working with Arrium at this site to deliver production targets within a safe work environment.
The Mining Engineer will report directly to the Senior Mining Engineer and is responsible for ensuring that project outcomes are met through an effective and efficient utilisation of resources in accordance with BGC Contracting procedures and client requirements.  Specific responsibility is for the planning of safe and efficient mining, drilling and blasting operations and the accurate reporting of mine production statistics.
The Mining Engineer needs to ensure mining managers, supervisors and operators are provided with accurate mining plans and that they fully understand the requirements of the mining plans.  The Mining Engineer will be also responsible for day to day planning of project; drill & blast operations including blast and tie in design and execution.
The successful candidate will require a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering role in a production mining environment, along with experience in drill & blast operations.  They will require excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Suite and Outlook, and experience using the following software packages: Surpac; XAct and Shot Plus.  An Open or Restricted WA Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency is preferred but not essential. 
This position is residential from either Whyalla – Cowell region, therefore no FIFO or camp accommodation is provided.
