Description:
Newmarket Gold is an international mining and
exploration company focused on safely meeting production targets and
sustainable growth. The company owns and operates mines in Central Victoria
(Stawell Gold Mines and Fosterville Gold Mine) and in the Northern Territory
(Cosmo Mine). This position will be based at Cosmo Mine Site. Cosmo Mine Site
is an Underground Gold Mine and is situated approximately 170km south of
Darwin.
Newmarket Gold invites suitably qualified and
experienced individuals to apply for the position of Senior Production
Engineer. The primary purpose of this position is to manage the provision of
high quality mine engineering services to the mining function, to support the
safe and efficient attainment of weekly and monthly production targets.
Reporting
to the Technical Services Superintendent your duties will include:
• Champion the attainment of weekly and monthly
mine production
• Review and manage the timely delivery of drill
and blast services to the mine
• Coach, mentor and supervise Mining Engineers
• Liaise closely with the Mine Planner to ensure
linkage is maintained between the monthly plan and the quarterly rolling plan
• Provide input and review into the mine design
and associated mining activities
• Provide production reporting and project
studies as required
• End of Month Mining Claim Preparation and
reporting
• Stope reconciliation reporting
The
successful candidate should possess the following:
• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
• Previous experience in a similar role
• 7 yrs. mining experience preferably UG
• Strong knowledge and experience of drill and
blast techniques
• Computer literate in office products
• Computer literate in mine planning software
(SURPAC would be a definite advantage)
The roster for this DIDO position will be 9 days
on 5 days off.
